Interior elegance

Step inside and experience the comfort and classic beauty of the Mainship 400's updated interior. From the spacious salon to the well-appointed staterooms, every detail has been thoughtfully designed for both style and functionality. Imagine relaxing and entertaining in this inviting, luxurious space.

The vinyl headliner—often a common deterioration point on Mainships—has been completely replaced in the main salon and both cabins, ensuring years of worry-free enjoyment. New recessed LED puck lights provide a fresh, modern look, complemented by three small dimmable wall sconces with individual power switches that add a warm and inviting ambiance throughout the salon.

Custom retractable window shades offer flexible privacy control, while blackout drapes at the stern provide complete seclusion whether docked in a marina or anchored out. Two custom-made large cushioned chairs and a 30" TV mounted at the rear of the salon create a comfortable, family-room-style setting perfect for relaxing or entertaining.

The original carpeting in the hallway and cabins has been replaced with teak and holly vinyl flooring to reduce dust, dirt, and mold buildup. A custom-made teak table, newly upholstered bench, and a pair of custom stools provide a warm and welcoming dining area.

The electric stove has been professionally converted to propane following ABYC standards, allowing the chef to prepare meals without running the generator—ideal for quiet mornings at anchor. The large single-bowl sink and built-in dish soap dispenser offers ample space for meal prep and cleanup, while the under-counter trash compartment keeps waste neatly concealed. A built-in toaster oven sits neatly in an enclosure large enough to accommodate a small microwave if desired, offering flexibility for your preferred galley setup. The apartment-size 120v/12-volt refrigerator/freezer is compact yet efficient, providing ample storage for several days' worth of fresh food while conserving power.

Entertainment is provided by a Boss Audio AM/FM radio mounted on the fly-bridge, with additional speakers extending sound throughout the main salon. A 32" Smart TV and Bose 321 system with CD player, 2 wall mounted speakers and a bass speaker offer multiple options for music and viewing pleasure. Internet connectivity is seamlessly provided by a Peplink Max BR1 router coupled to a Generation 3 Starlink dish mounted on the radar mast. Powered by a 12-volt POE injector, there's no need to use the inverter, shore power, or generator. Using Starlink's Roam service, enjoy unlimited data whether underway, on the hook, or at the marina.

Exterior beauty

The Mainship 400 boasts a striking exterior design that turns heads wherever it goes. With its sleek lines and spacious decks, this boat is as functional as it is beautiful. Picture yourself cruising the open water in style. Wide walkways provide the captain and first mate safe, easy access to the bow for anchoring or navigating through the many locks on the Great Loop, combining safety, convenience, and confidence for extended voyages. The Mainship 400 is one of the most popular vessels on the Great Loop, proven by countless cruisers who have successfully completed the journey in this trusted design.

Included with the vessel is a 10' Avon RIB tender powered by a 15 hp Honda 4-stroke outboard—perfect for easy trips to shore and exploring while on the Loop. The easy-to-use SeaWise Davit system, mounted on the swim platform, makes deploying and retrieving the tender effortless. A wide transom door provides convenient and safe access to the swim platform, making boarding the tender or enjoying the water simple and comfortable.

The bottom was freshly repainted in May 2025 with Trinidad SR Pro, a durable hard paint designed to last up to three years with routine bottom cleanings. At the same time, the bow thruster gear leg was replaced and fitted with new propellers and zincs, ensuring continued reliability and confident maneuvering in tight docking situations. The dark blue hull was also recently buffed and waxed, restoring its deep, glossy shine and enhancing the vessel’s elegant appearance on the water.

Navigate with Confidence

Experience effortless cruising aboard PartnerShip II, equipped with the latest Raymarine marine electronics. The Axiom+ chartplotter, Evolution 400 autopilot, and Navionics cartography make route planning and piloting simple and precise. Both upper and lower helm stations feature a fully networked suite of Raymarine instruments for seamless operation.

The newest navigation app, Aqua Maps, popular among Great Loopers, integrates perfectly with Navionics—plan routes on the included 12” iPad, upload to the Axiom+, and let the system steer you to your destination with the touch of a button.

Recently replaced engine management gauges allow confident monitoring of performance, while safety has been fully addressed with a tested SeaFire Engine Shutdown and Extinguisher System, three new Class BC-rated handheld fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors in each cabin and the main salon, and a smoke detector. Bilge pump warning lights and a high-water alarm provide additional peace of mind.

Convenience is built in throughout the vessel. Clearly labeled 120V and 12V power panels, new USB and USB-C charging ports at both helms and the salon table, plus a new 120V outlet at the salon table make powering your devices—phones, tablets, or laptops—effortless while underway.

Propulsion System

Explore the advanced systems that power the Mainship 400. The reliable Caterpillar 3126 engine, with only 1,375 hours, provides dependable propulsion for serious cruising, paired with state-of-the-art navigation equipment for confident operation. Rest assured knowing you have top-of-the-line technology and systems designed for reliability and ease of use.

The engine and transmission have been recently serviced, including oil, fuel, and filter changes, and a new raw water pump impeller. The engine has been thoroughly detailed, with attention to any corrosion and rust, and the heat exchanger, intercooler, and transmission cooler have been flushed to remove contamination.

The vessel also features dual switchable fuel pre-filters and an integrated fuel polishing system to ensure consistent, clean fuel delivery. A spare four-blade propeller with puller and wrench is included for uninterrupted operation. The engine room is exceptionally clean with dry sumps throughout, and proactive measures have been taken to eliminate the common rainwater intrusion issues often found in vessels of this vintage—ensuring long-term reliability and peace of mind.

A Mastervolt 2000-watt inverter supplies ample power for the included toaster oven or a small microwave, providing dependable off-grid electrical capability. The deep-cycle AGM batteries, replaced in December 2022, offer several more years of reliable service for confident cruising. The domestic water heater, plumbed directly to the engine’s cooling system, delivers hot water without the need to run the generator while at anchor—an efficient and thoughtful upgrade for extended stays.

Generator Room

The generator room is equipped with a dependable 8 kW Kohler 8EOZ generator with only 716 hours, providing ample power whether at anchor or underway. A Generator On light at each helm offers a quick visual reminder when in use. The space is clean, well-organized, and features the X-Change-R oil change system for easy maintenance. Recently serviced with an oil and filter change, new raw water pump impeller and zinc, and several new raw water hoses, this generator is ready to deliver continued reliable performance.
